Each furnished room of furniture contains, on average, 1000 pounds of household goods. Our crews typically load on average 500 pounds per man/hour. Unloading typically goes twice as fast. Please keep in mind, however, that these numbers are based on long-term averages and that other factors such as weather, time of day, bulky items, and access to your residence will affect how quickly the crew can actually work. Packing materials In order to perform your move in a professional manner, specific materials are needed to protect your household goods during handling and transport. We charge only for cardboard boxes used during the move. We do not charge for padded moving blankets used to protect your furniture, tape or plastic wrap. These packing supplies are free unless provided to the customer in advance. Long distance move Long distance moves are defined as spanning an area farther than 100 miles. Selecting a qualified long distance mover is perhaps nowhere more important than when choosing a company to move your household over a long distance. All interstate moves will be charged based on the weight of your entire shipment. We estimate the weight by converting the estimated volume by 7 pounds per cubic foot to establish an accurate quote.
